It was the worst day of my life when my best friend of 20 years invited me to her wedding.

There are friendships that last decades or even a lifetime, and friendships that seem strong can end in an instant. Our heroine today is a 34-year-old woman who was shocked by how her best friend of over 20 years behaved on her special day. The woman wrote a letter to the internet that she wanted to cry as she told her story:

It looked like the bond between two women was very strong.
Alyson, who is 34 years old, recently wrote about a painful event in her friendship with Miranda, who is 35 years old and her best friend from childhood. To start her story, she said, “Last weekend, my best friend from childhood got married.” I was thrilled and thrilled to be there with her on her big day. Right away, bad things started happening in our relationship.
What else does Alyson say? “Right after Miranda asked me to be her bridesmaid, she told me she would make me dress like a girl.” She made a list of things she wanted me to do, like wear a dress, boots, and cut my hair at least to a bob length. I also had plans to dye my hair and get a tan. What was even worse for me was that I had to cover up my scars with body paint.

Alyson told everyone right away why this was all bothering her. “Since I was a teenager, I’ve always been a complete tomboy,” she wrote. I’ve always felt very awkward when I put on dresses, boots, and makeup. But it was my best friend’s big day, so I offered to do everything but grow my hair. Then Miranda told Alyson that she would still be welcome to her wedding, but she would no longer be a bridesmaid. Alyson agreed, even though she already felt terrible about what had happened.
Around that point, things were getting worse, and Alyson was mad.
“Because I’m a chocolatier, Miranda asked me to make the wedding favors and take care of the dessert table,” Alyson continues. Even though her demands on how I should look and the fact that she had changed her mind about having me as a girl had hurt our relationship, I was thrilled to help her with everything. I did everything I could to make an absolutely stunning table that was a huge hit all day.

Miranda’s behavior toward Alyson, on the other hand, wasn’t getting better. The woman said, “Then she told me that Miranda wanted to keep costs low because the wedding was getting close to going over budget.” She told me that my husband wasn’t invited. I was mad at her, but she was my best friend and we’d been through a lot together. I thought it was all because she was stressed out about the wedding, so I was very understanding and even lowered my prices for the table I set up as a gift for them.
The best friend’s mean behavior didn’t end at that important moment.
Another month later, Alyson wrote, “Miranda told me that my husband could still come with me, but if he did, I would be moved away from the head table.” Alyson said that her husband is a wedding shooter and was excited to add videography to his list of skills. They knew Miranda and her soon-to-be-husband did not have a camera.
After that, Alyson’s husband told them he would make a professional wedding movie for them for free. “Miranda was thrilled, and she suggested that she move us to the vendor table so that we could work with the other vendors,” the woman said. It was agreed that we would sit with the sellers because we liked the idea so much.
